Nash received early education at SK Subang Jaya and later at SRK Port Dickson. He was the school headboy, and was selected as “Tokoh Kanak-Kanak Negeri Sembilan 1986". Upon achieving 5As and excelling in extra-curricular activities, he was accepted at “Royal Military College” for secondary studies. He played hockey for the Armed Forces U-15, U-21 teams, as well as vice captained the Kuala Lumpur U-18, where they won the National Championships 2 years in a row. He was named as a trainee in the U-18 Malaysian National squad. He was RMC’s feather-weight boxing champion and cross-country champion. He was named sportsman of the year 1991. During the “military passing out parade”, he was selected as one of the Top 5 students of the year, winning the prestigious “Board of Governors” award.
Nash was awarded a scholarship from Petronas Malaysia to continue education in Australia. Graduating from Trinity College Foundation Year in 1992, he was accepted at one of the “Global Top Ranked Universities”, The University of Melbourne, Australia. He spent a number of years as a resident at Trinity College, and won “Best & Fairest” at Inter-Collegiate Men's Hockey for 3 years in a row.
Nash graduated with a Bachelor of Commerce degree (majoring in Accounting & Finance) in 1996.
Nash joined KPMG Melbourne in 1997, in the Audit & Advisory division. He completed the "ICAA PY" Professional Year program and successfully accepted as a professional “CA” Chartered Accountant, from the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia.
